Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wills and Estate Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and services related to wills, estates, and trusts. This includes drafting wills, administering estates, and advising clients on estate planning and probate matters. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with and gain exposure to corporate & commercial law and our real estate & development practice as directed by the firm’s partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and reviewing wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
- Supervising and directing the firm’s wills & estates clerk.
- Advising clients on estate planning, including tax implications and asset protection.
- Administering estates, including probate and estate litigation.
- Providing legal advice on powers of attorney and guardianship matters.
- Supporting the firm’s litigation group for estate-related disputes.
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in estate law and regulations.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in wills and estates law.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario estate law and regulations.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Superior writing and English communication skills. Proficiency in French would be an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and matters simultaneously.

Our firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate to join our dynamic team and provide exceptional legal representation to our corporate clientele. If you have a strong background in commercial litigation and a track record of delivering results, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Represent business clients in a range of litigation matters, including commercial disputes, contract disputes, employment litigation, lease disputes, and regulatory matters.
- Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on litigation risk management, dispute resolution strategies, and potential outcomes.
- Conduct legal research, case analysis, and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
- Collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to develop effective litigation strategies tailored to meet the unique needs and objectives of each client.
- Handle all aspects of the litigation process, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Manage and mentor junior associates and legal staff, providing guidance, support, and feedback as needed.
Qualifications:
- B. or J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing litigation law, with a focus on representing business clients.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling complex commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing and mentoring junior lawyers and legal staff.
- Business acumen and a client-focused approach to legal practice.
- Fluency in English (additional fluency in French is an asset).
