SKS Law LLP, a boutique law firm based in Ottawa, Ontario, is currently looking for a skilled and motivated Clerk to join our Corporate and Commercial team. As a Corporate Clerk with our firm, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters, including interprovincial and cross-border transactions. We welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to our team’s success and providing clients with exceptional service.


  1. Document Preparation: Assist lawyers in drafting and preparing various corporate documents, including articles of incorporation, resolutions, and annual filings.
  2. Corporate Filings: Manage and file corporate documents with the relevant government authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations and deadlines.
  3. Corporate Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate corporate records, minute books, and databases for our clients, ensuring they are up-to-date and in compliance with legal requirements.
  4. Client Correspondence: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, respond to inquiries, and provide updates on corporate matters.
  5. Due Diligence: Assist in conducting due diligence reviews and research related to corporate transactions and compliance matters.
  6. Support Legal Team: Provide administrative and organizational support to lawyers in corporate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other related matters.


  1. Education: Diploma or degree in a legal assistant or law clerk program.
  2. Experience: Minimum of two [2] years of experience as a Corporate Clerk in a law firm or corporate environment.
  3. Knowledge: Understanding of corporate law procedures, corporate governance, and familiarity with corporate documents and filings.
  4. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in preparing and reviewing legal documents and filings.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  6. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities and the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  7. Language: Fluency in English mandatory (additional fluency in French is an asset).

Salary range: starting at $50,000, commensurate with experience
