We are currently looking for a motivated and dependable real estate clerk to join our Ottawa team. As an employee with our firm, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of real estate matters, including residential real estate transactions; commercial real estate transactions; financings; severances and leasing. We welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to our team’s success and providing clients with exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lawyers and legal professionals with real estate transactions, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Conduct title searches, prepare title opinions, and complete other due diligence searches as required.
  • Coordinate and assist with the closing process for real estate transactions, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Communicate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of real estate files, including organizing and managing relevant documentation.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with the appropriate government agencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, ensuring their needs are met and inquiries are addressed promptly.
  • Stay informed about current real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Real Estate Assistant or Clerk in a law firm or legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of real estate transactions and related legal processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using legal software and office productivity tools, including Unity and Teraview.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
