As a partner at SKS Law LLP, Gordon Douglas’ practice is focused on providing legal advice and representation to a broad range of clients involved in disputes and litigation including commercial disputes, debt collection, professional negligence, environmental contamination, bankruptcy and insolvency, shareholder disagreements and civil fraud.

Gordon has experience obtaining a variety of court orders including mareva injunctions, Anton Piller orders and certificates of pending litigation.  He regularly appears on behalf of clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.  Gordon has also appeared before New Brunswick’s Court of King’s Bench and arbitration panels in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada.  He has also represented clients in Provincial Offences Court in Ontario and before the former tribunal of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Before joining SKS Law LLP, Gordon was a partner at a national law firm and also acted as counsel for other lawyers and law firms that wanted their clients to benefit from Gordon’s legal expertise in litigious disputes and court actions.

Prior to being called to the bar, Gordon worked for members of Parliament in increasing roles of responsibility.  His last role was as senior policy advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment.

Outside of work, Gordon has experience being a volunteer with schools and community associations including Fern Hill School, Elmwood School, Ottawa East Minor Hockey Association, the Rockcliffe Park Residents Association and the Kidney Foundation of Canada.  He also has experience in political campaigns at the municipal, provincial and federal levels, including nomination, general election and leadership campaigns.
